Our New Rector

We are very happy that the Revd Canon David Paton-Williams accepted our invitation to be our next Rector. His institution service took place on Monday 25th April.

For the past eight years David has been the vicar of St Edmund’s Roundhay in Leeds. He has also served at Ripon Cathedral and a variety of parishes in the Durham, and West Yorkshire and the Dales Dioceses of the Church of England. David is married to Jenny and has a grown up family.

Prayer, hospitality, working alongside the local community and fostering ecumenical relations lie at the heart of David’s ministry. He is also interested in the relationships between science and religion, and between creation theology and spirituality.

David will help us look to the future, develop the initiatives that have begun in the last three years and to build on, and perhaps re-think, along with our ecumenical partners, our involvement with and service to our surrounding city-centre community, with a particular ministry to tourists and to the homeless.
